“Our MOMENT has become more than that. We now have a national movement powered by a community that remains beautifully inclusive and dedicated even as it continues to grow. I’m astounded every day by the on-the-ground digital inclusion heroes — folks helping their communities thrive in the digital world.”

Important Voices

Net Inclusion 2023 featured more community speakers and big names. We welcomed US Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo and had several newsworthy policy announcements.

POlicy highlight: Digital Equity for states

In 2023, all state governments undertook a new project — creating State Digital Equity Plans, thanks to the historic $2.75 billion in the Digital Equity Act. The NDIA team provided essential education and training, a toolkit incorporating years of experience from community digital inclusion programs, and deep support through the process.

Policy Awareness & Advocacy

As ACP funds started dwindling, NDIA gave affiliates ongoing policy updates and information on how best to advocate for renewing ACP funding.

NDIA refreshed content on its Free & Low-Cost Internet Plans webpage and maintains current information through regular reviews and checks. In FY23, this page had over 10,000 views.

Peer & Expert Support

The NDIA team offered thousands of people support in working with ACP. We hosted monthly working groups on outreach, provided free support for digital navigators, and offered virtual and in-person spaces for peer support.
